Assignment: Data visualisation Shakespeare
When it comes to data, people might have the image that it is all about sorting lists. This assignment proves otherwise. For this assignment I looked at all of Shakespeare’s books to find the different active ingredients that were in Shakespeare’s elixirs and magic potions. I found it very interesting to make a visualization because of the influence s magical potions had on his well known stories.
For this data visualisation, I first went through all of Shakespeare’s text looking for poisonous substances. Next I searched for the most active molecules found in the toxins. Whereafter I looked up the molecular structure of the most active molecules. I used this to visualise the amount of each atom in the molecule on a medicine bottle.
In this periode, I learned a lot about researching, programming and designing.
