Prothesis
Assignment: Improve a 3D printable hand
.The e-NABLE foundation commissioned the production of a 3D printable prosthesis for children who are missing an arm or a hand. Since the costs of a prosthesis can be very high, the foundation decided to print their own prosthesis. This project was a team project in which I worked together with two fellow IPO students.
During this project, many prototypes, user research and functional testing was done. I especially enjoyed carrying out research into the functionality of the hand/arm and converting this most important functionality into real-life models. Through this project, I learned a lot about the human body, mechanical models and how to go from user desires to physical development.
